VP, Network Security Engineer

Job Description

Jefferies is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join as a Vice President in the Information Security team with accountability for researching, designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting network security. This role is hands-on and requires deep technical expertise across network security and segmentation, automation, DevOps practices and emerging AI/LLM driven capabilities. The engineer will work closely with our infrastructure, application, and security teams to implement our existing and future network security & segmentation tools, drive automation and self-service models and influence security architecture decisions while protecting the firm's assets.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable with Integrating Automation (Python, LLM's) into the Network Security stack of tools and services. They will also have experience in: Management of Next-Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto & ZScaler preferred), Network Segmentation (Illumio preferred) WAF, IPS, NDR, NAC, etc. Most importantly, the ideal candidate must be extremely eager to learn new technologies and able to execute. The role will also have an opportunity to work with subject matter experts not only within security, but across infrastructure, network, development, and business teams.

About your role

As a QA Engineer at Juniper Square, you will collaborate with the product and engineering teams to help define and drive our manual and automation testing efforts. You must be detail oriented, passionate about product quality, and a strong advocate for the end user experience.

  Review functional specifications and technical design documents, providing meaningful feedback and using AI-assisted analysis to identify edge cases or logic gaps early in the SDLC.

  Work closely with development teams to identify test cases for automation and leverage AI-powered IDEs (like Cursor or Augment) to rapidly prototype and scaffold new test suites.

  Design, develop, and execute test cases against product features and backend systems.

  Maintain and extend automation frameworks (Playwright/Locust) by utilizing LLMs for code refactoring, optimizing test scripts, and reducing flaky test patterns.

  Contribute to your development team on best practices, processes, and problem-solving, including the ethical and effective use of AI tools in the QA workflow.

  Develop automated test result reports and highlight any potential quality risks

Qualifications

• 
  

  Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.

  Experience: 5+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with strong expertise in testing web applications.

  Test Automation: Skilled in designing, building, and maintaining test automation frameworks for web applications (preferably using Playwright).

  
  


• 
  

  Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.

  AI-Augmented Development: Experience in using AI-powered tools (e.g., Augment, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate test authoring, assist in debugging automation scripts, and optimize documentation workflows.

  API Testing: Hands-on experience in both manual, and/or automated testing of REST and/or GraphQL APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Locust.

  CI/CD and SDLC: Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software development lifecycle concepts, including code review practices, code coverage analysis, continuous testing, and delivery.

Compensation

Compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is 110,000 - 130,000 USD and the Canadian base salary range for this role is 130,000 - 150,000 CAD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
